It is recommended that you do not install over top of existing evaluation copies of the ALM or courses. Please remove the current copy then install.

If you wish to install over an existing copy, take the following steps:

When the setup program asks you to select the ALM path, browse and select the location on the network where the existing ALM directory is located. (i.e. J:\Aware\ALM) Click next and the next window should ask you to confirm the location of the ALM, statement should read:

"Click Next to Upgrade this installation"

or

"Click back to choose another directory"

This message confirms that the setup program did find a previous version of the ALM and it is confirming that you want to overwrite and re-license the existing copy. Click next to upgrade the installation. If the above message was not displayed, the setup program did not find the previous copy of the ALM.

After the copying is complete, but before the setup program asks you if you want to install the Aware Administrator to the Program Manager group, there should be a screen prompting you for a Licensed Company name. This screen is part of the licensing process. If you see this screen appear, it means the licensing information was copied to the ALM databases. If the screen does not appear, the licensing portion of the installation is not being executed.
